Luke 19:10 Ministries

Remember to save your old literature and take to Friends of Faith Church in Pacolet or the Network office. They will get them to Luke 19:10, who will send it to 21 countries to be used in Kingdom work. Lives are being changed eternally with almost every shipment because your church/group chose to go the extra mile and recycle your SS material, allowing God to reconcile a lost humanity to Himself.

School Supplies:

It’s that time of year again. Please begin collecting school supplies to assist needy families trying to cope in a struggling economy. Please see the list of items in the Mission Booklet or call the Network. Items are due to the Network by July 31, 2009 if at all possible. The list is your typical type school supply list.

Student Connection

Are you looking for ways to meet and connect with college students? Well, 8/16/09 is your chance. College ministries, Youth groups and miscellaneous volunteers are needed to help students move back into their dorm rooms. Water and Gatorade is also needed for hydration stations for those working and moving in. Call Tracy or Suzanne with BCM office at the Network at 582-4609.

English as a Second Language

With so many internationals living in Spartanburg and unable to speak English very well, ESOL is a great way to be "On Mission with God" as well as meet a practical need.  If you are interested in teaching or assisting in this type of ministry, please call Mary Hensley at 583-0455 or Claudia High at 582-8330.

For more info contact Paul at 864-582-8330

Disaster Relief
Call-Out Protocol

With hurricane season upon us, there may be a need for DR call-out among our trained workers.  To expedite the process, you will receive an automated recording from me concerning any needs that arise for volunteers.  If you receive an automated call, please listen long enough to hear the details about the call-out, the dates and type of disaster relief work that is needed.  If you have any questions about DR ministry, call Paul at 864-582-8330.

Pray for students as they begin their summer break, that they would use their time wisely and for the Lord.  Pray for God to raise up twice as many student leaders for our campus small groups.
With 12,000 college students at the 5 campuses in Spartanburg, there is a tremendous mission field right here at home!    We need individuals or families to "adopt" a college student -- build a relationship with them, invite them to your home for a meal -- just interact with them!  Many, especially International students, may never be invited into an American home while at college.  What a missed opportunity to share the Gospel with a student that may go back to their home country as a new believer and missionary to their own people.
We are now located in the Baptist Network Building on Cummings Street.  To see find out what is happening visit our web site or call the Baptist Collegiate Ministry office at 582-4609.
